Driokolaptis (woodpecker) is an art project that uses the mediums of printmaking and the classical book arts, such as hand bookbinding, letterpress, etc. It was created by the visual artists Euripides Papadopetrakis and Pantazis Tselios (pantazistselios.com) in order to show and preserve the classic ways of graphic arts and furthermore the fine arts. The basic aim of Driokolaptis, both theoretically and technically, is to explore new solutions and applications on the graphic arts, based on the requirements of modern society.

Through actions such as educational programs, exhibitions and collaborations with other visual artists and graphic designers, the team attempts to revive the art of engraving while contributing to the upgrading of classical printmaking as well as the re-familiarization of the audience with it.
